This is Steve AC6T. Need some help here. I am looking for ideas for and presenters for program presentations for the UCSB ARC that would be of interest to newly or unlicensed students. The presentations could be scheduled for 5pm or 7pm whichever would be more convenient. Please let me know if you have some ideas for this. I am trying to get more students involved with the club.

Hi Steve
I’m a recently licensed HAM myself, as you may recall. If it would be of value, I could speak to my experience (motivation, operating objectives, station design, station build-out, operating experiences so far, lessons learned). I’m not sure whether this would be of interest to interested or newly licensed students. I’d be happy to share, though.
By the way, I’d like to catch up on my operating experience with the Hy-Gain AV-680, a multi-band, vertical, “High Q” antenna. I find myself wondering whether I could do better with a HexBeam…
