Did you know there was a full marathon in Santa Barbara from 1965 through 1984? Historical notes from the race director regarding the race are at the link below, including a shout-out to SBARC.

The marathon was abandoned after the number of finishers declined to 114 in 1984 and returned in 2009 with 1,686 finishers, again with SBARC support.
