To: SBARC Membership From: Bill Talanian, W1UUQ, Trustee K6TZ Subject: SBARC W6R operations
SBARC has authorization to operate W6R as a Special Event station from 4 -thru- 7 Feb. There are open periods when you may be able to operate W6R from your home or mobile station. If you have a desire to operate individually as W6R then book your operation with the Trustee.
Operational guidelines for individual mobile or fixed operation as W6R under your amateur radio license are as follows:
1. You must be an SBARC member. 2. Operational periods will be coordinated and booked through the Trustee at 805-964-7432. 3. Operations will be limited to your individual license class level. 4. No simultaneous operations will be permitted (more than one station at any period). 5. An accurate log must be kept and turned into the Trustee for QSL card service (SASE only).
Remember to check-in at the Club web site often as Michael Reynolds, NO6O, will be posting the latest information as it becomes available. All booked operational periods will be posted on the Club web site <www.sbarc.org> and other amateur radio outlets. Keep in mind that N6R will be operational as the "Reagan Library" at Simi Valley while W6R will be operational as the "Reagan Ranch" (Rancho del Cielo). Please remember this is not a contest so take the time to accommodate as many stations as you can by explaining what the event is about and the venues. Maybe even become acquainted with the 40th President by reading Wikipedia and life at Rancho del Cielo http://www.yaf.org/ranchodelcielo.aspx.
Lastly, this is the first time this Club has participated in a wide scale special event of this type. Have fun and become part of history on this centennial event.
