AR Newsline producer/host Don Wilbanks just announced that founder Bill Pasternak, WA6ITF, has died.
Skeeter Nash, N5ASH is apparently taking over as exec producer of the broadcast, and had solicited for help from hams with broadcast/production backgrounds last week.
More details, including any funeral / memorial info, when I get them.
Personally, I knew Bill since 1969-1970 - he was WA2HVK on 2m AM with a Heath Twoer when I first heard him on the radio - my receiver was a 5-tube AC-DC radio that I had added a nuvistor based crystal oscillator to.
In 1976 he and Jim Hendershot started Westlink Radio News which morphed into what we know today. He became the Walter Cronkite of the amateur radio news - and was as respected as Walt was.
He was a good friend and will be missed by all.
