Dreier Museum
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to let you know I have arranged for a tour of the Dreier Museum on Saturday May 16th from 2-4:30 pm.
You may not have heard of this place but it is generally not open to the public unless if is arranged for in advance. This is a private collection of Movie/TV
memorabilia, Music memorabilia, Gems and Minerals/Fossils, Sports Memorabilia, and many other items. This is a private collection of Chad and Ginny Dreier
and it is located in an old estate on Miramonte Drive near KEYT. Chad Dreier is the CEO of the Ryland Group which is the 2nd top building corporation
in the U.S.. So he has big bucks and uses it to buy lots of stuff and also is a big donor to the Police Activities League and other charities.
Anyway, of the many collectibles he has is a room totally dedicated to Lucille Ball. There are newspaper articles, letters and postcards written by her
to her mother and Desi, pictures of her with many of her co-stars and actual clothing/costumes that she wore on her shows along with many other props.
He also has many Disney collectibles such as Davy Crockett stuff, old tickets, pictures, figurines, etc.
The gem collection includes a rare 40 - 50 pound uncut emerald!
For the sports fan, he has a HUGE room with baseball, football, basketball, boxing memorabilia such as a baseball bat actually used by Babe Ruth and many
old baseball trading cards with one actually worth $2 million !
It is an amazing place! I was up there in October when they had an open house for Police and Fire employees.
I was awed and amazed by this place and I think you will be too!
Plus the view is FANTASTIC!
So invite your friends and be ready for an awesome experience!
They will provide Drinks and finger foods for us. The cost of this will be $15.00 per person. Please let me know if you are interested. I will need
to give them a head count by May 8th and send them the money by May 13th.
I wanted to tell you about the place. If you have any questions let me know. You can call me at (805) 966-7060 or e-mail me, dennis@west.net
