I watched this, and haven't checked it out as to truthfulness or how widespread it is. But if true (and coming from a ham, it does sound true), it sounds serious for California Amateurs.
This is a 13 minute video about this:

I found an incomplete URL for the original letter on the video comments, but got a 404 error.
Has this affected any of the emergency services provided by SBARC hams to our community (or other communities)?
A copy of the response letter from the LAW OFFICE OF A. NATHAN ZELIFF is at:

There is a rebuttal in the comments maybe 8 or so comments down from the top as of this writing. Wish the URL to the original letter worked!!!

Rebuttal video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YxEty6jC5po
It appears that there was a single case of an undocumented ham repeater at a state facility and the owner was tracked down and asked to apply for a co-location permit.
Not statewide.
Not kicking out all ham facilities.
Not political.
One guy with a rogue undocumented repeater that somehow managed to get installed in a state communications facility.
Thanks Jay for the additional information. And nice summary of the situation :). One less thing to be concerned with!

I wasn't able to find the URL for the original letter in any of the pages of comments I searched. Have you tried plugging the URL you found into: http://archive.org ?
From what I gather from the information I read on-line, it would seem that an intruder larcenously placed repeater/transceiver equipment into one of the CalFire mountain-top cabinets, and plugged it into the fire department's electric utility power service/outlet without seeking/receiving authorization. This apparently precipitated CalFire's request to divorce themselves from joint radio communications with the police, and curtail approval of their long standing policy of co-located amateur equipment.

From what I monitored during Thomas Fire, it smells like CalFire would prefer the public were denied access to their radio communications, as they may say things over the radio that they don't want the public to know about them and their activities. This may be at the heart of CalFire's request. Just a thought for negotiators ...

Have you not seen Jay's response to Marvin's message? I'm buying more guns and fewer radios in the future.
