Hello SBARC Friends,
I want to thank you for the opportunity to present the state of Amateur Television today at the SBARC Meeting last Friday.
Seeing you all again brought back great memories. Let's make more great memories now that COVID is subsiding.
The Amateur Television Network (ATN) is embracing Digital Amateur Television (DATV) and it is now "on the air to everywhere," throughout the world.
We get frequent check-ins from all over the U.S., Canada and Australia. Last night, we even had two check-ins from Germany!
You can watch our video stream on www.youtube.com/amateurtelevisionnetwork.
You can even participate live on our ATN Nets by browsing to www.whereby.com/atn1 Sunday at 7:00pm and Tuesday at 7:30pm. It's similar to running Zoom and it's a lot of fun.
If you're active on Mesh, check out our KC6JPG ATN Mesh Network Service on the AREDN Global Tunnel Server.
Breaking News! Participate in the Last Man Standing ham radio event, now through March 30th. Roland Hoffman KC6JPG will operate as K6M, an official LMS station. You can watch live on ATN repeaters and www.youtube.com/amateurtelevisionnetwork. You can also check in on www.whereby.com/atn1. Browse to www.gsbarc.org for details.
As I promised at the SBARC Meeting, I'll send you info soon about operational details for ATV in Santa Barbara and equipment to get you going on Digital ATV. We're in the process of making a group equipment order that offers a rare 15% discount. Email me at wb9kmo@gmail.com if you're interested.
I'm buying new equipment to enhance the WB9KMO-ATN SB ATV repeater to make it High-Definition Digital ATV in and out. The repeater is alive and well with excellent two-way audio and video links to several repeaters in the Amateur Television Network. There's a lot of ATV activity linked into Santa Barbara every day for you to tap into.
Merv Hecht KO6E, a friend of mine and an active ATVer from L.A., just moved to Montecito. He looks forward to meeting you and being an active part of SBARC. Please make him welcome.
The more SB interest we see in ATV, the quicker we'll get the upgrades installed.
I hope we can activate Digital ATV at the Club Station to showcase SBARC to the world.
If you're interested in learning more and getting on Digital ATV, email me at wb9kmo@gmail.com.
Stay happy and healthy, Rod Fritz WB9KMO Proud SBARC Member wb9kmo@gmail.com
P.S. We look forward to seeing you on Amateur Radio!
