Fwd: Six Meter SSB Net Tuesday

Hi folks! I thought I would try my hand at promoting two of our local nets again, so: Please join us on Tuesday evening for the monthly six meter SSB net starting at 20:00 hours local of on 50.125 MHz SSB and then migrating up to 50.145 MHz for the rest of the net. Give your radio a little exercise on six meters and join us! As a reminder, the weekly two meter SSB net happens ever Wednesday starting at 8:00 PM on 144.210 MHz. These nets have been running continuously for around 15 years, so come join the conversations!

Harbach Electronics is closed permanently

Saw it posted on the QTH for sale section, went to the website and it's confirmed. ***Harbach Electronics Closed Permanently*** 28 March 2024: Due to being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, Harbach Electronics will be permanently closed. I am exploring options for someone to keep the business going and if that works out, great, if not, it has been a great run for 27 years since I took over from Al Harbach, WA4DRU. Elings Park

To: ALL From: Bill Talanian Yesterday the tech team set out to improve the microwave link from Santa Ynez Peak to the Red Cross. I performed a simple task by staging at the Vic Trace Reservoir equipment shelter to disconnect the former link during the test phase. While there for two hours I had a lot of time to reflect on the the location and the thousands of hours which contributed to its success as a flagship center for amateur radio communications. To see all this vanish by the end of July is personally devastating. I became more determined and resolute that this should not happen to SBARC. Our group has endured as a club in the Southcoast for more than 100 years without a blemish on our record. With only four months left on our lease arrangement at the Vic Trace Reservoir we have one last chance for the relocation of the equipment shelter within the City of Santa Barbara. On paper Elings Park appears to be the best location. However, a complete site survey has yet to be performed pending discussions with the Elings Park Foundation and their Executive Director. Field Day Update

Hello SBARC Members and Friends The Field Day Planning team is pleased to provide an update based on the input received via the recent survey. Full details of the survey results are available on the SBARC website, here: https://www.sbarc.org/2024/03/12/field-day-preparations/ Based on your input, we have a short list of Field Day sites and are working to select and secure permission from the best one. We have also begun preparing communication and operation plans. Finally, many of you indicated an interest in helping with various aspects of Field Day preparation. We will be contacting those of you that offered to help once our plans are better defined. Thanks again for your input and strong interest in this event.
