Kenwood KT-310 HTs For Sale

I picked up three Kenwood KT-310 HTs along with two KSC-4 chargers in a box of stuff I bought at the TRW swapmeet. Not a lot of information on the web, but they appear to be 450 - 475 MHz crystal controlled 10 channel HTs. In any case, I have zero use for them. In testing them out, the batteries did take a charge on all three HTs. I only tested them on whatever frequency is in channel 8 (my frequency meter doesn't go to UHF), and all three will transmit and receive. $20.00 for the lot. I can be reached by phone at 687-8881. SBARC Field Day 2011 - It's a Huge Success! Come to Camino Real Marketplace this morning...

SBARC Members and Friends, Our Field Day event has already been a huge success! The turnout of members and public attendees yesterday was the largest I've seen for Field Day in the 34 years I've been in Santa Barbara!!! If you haven't visited our setup yet, please come to Camino Real Marketplace this morning. We have our station on the air until 11am today and there are several displays to see until about 2pm. Some of the programs we're presenting are listed in the attached Schedule of Events. Beyond that, several of us are manning the booths to discuss all facets of Amateur Radio that interest you. Hello SBARC Members and Friends, We're making final preparations for Field Day, which takes place tomorrow and Sunday at Camino Real Marketplace (the Costco/Best Buy mall, near the movie theater). PUBLIC DISPLAY MEETING AT 5PM TODAY - If you will be making a presentation or helping with a display, please join us for a coordination meeting today at 5:00pm at Gina's Restaurant in the Camino Real Marketplace (next to the theater). We'll have a brief meeting to coordinate our plans and then we'll join the setup team to enjoy pizza or other Italian delights for dinner at around 5:30pm. PRESENTATIONS AND DISPLAYS - Even if we communicated about this earlier, please confirm what you can do and when you can do it. New presenters and helpers are welcome. The House Energy and Commerce Committee has held a series of hearings on this matter in the past few months, as well as in previous years, has gathered and considered the facts, and now needs to act to move legislation to the floor of the House before adjourning for their month-long August recess. Our nation's first responders have waited long enough. These committee members need to hear from you, your family, your neighbors and your colleagues that the time is now to allocate the D Block and provide funding to public safety to finally realize a nationwide, interoperable public safety broadband network, as recommended by the 9/11 Commission and reiterated by its bipartisan co-chairs in testimony before Congress earlier this year. Results of Schabarum Park ARDF 6/11/11

Schabarum Regional Park is a great venue for on-foot transmitter hunting under international rules, but only if the weather cooperates. We've been there in January after a heavy rain that washed down the trails and made the going very slippery. We've been there in the summer months when the trails, which have very little shade, can seem like a solar oven. But on June 11, the weather was nearly ideal. A light misty rain fell in the early morning hours, not enough to make the trails slippery but enough to keep everyone refreshed. The temperature all day was neither too hot nor too cool. This was the greatest number of radio-orienteers that we've had on a full ARDF course at Schabarum for several years. It took three trips to drive them all from the gathering point to the hunt starting point. Then they had to navigate their way back to our gathering/finishing location, searching for the five transmitters along the way. Many of them were newcomers who had built their antennas and attenuators at Tri-City Park in May and had learned the basics there. Now they were ready for a full ARDF course. Another first for us was supplied by Sherman and Vinson Lam, students at Rowland High School. They live nearby so they wheeled to the site, one on a Razor scooter and the other on a unicycle! In the last month, they have gotten their ham licenses under the guidance of Bob Houghton AD6QF, their Physics teacher. Bob also came out and took to the course. It was a family activity for Tim Millard KJ6NGF along with Sheri, Adam and Joshua. Also on the beginner course were Greg Kawasaki WA6NJI, Terry Hall K6MA and Brooks Kachner W6BJK. Photos have been posted at www.homingin.com If you were able to complete the main five-fox course, you're probably ready for a mountain course. Come out to Mt. Pinos on July 16-17 and try it. Unlike Schabarum Park, the forest floor at Mt. Pinos is mostly runnable, so you can stick to the trails or go cross-country as you choose. This is also an excellent opportunity to try ARDF on 80 meters. If you don't have gear for that band, there will probably be some to borrow at the Mt. Pinos Event. 73, Joe Moell K0OV

Folks: With a new equipment shelter on-line we moved a lot of equipment around and now have the following 19 inch racks available for free. The club has no storage available so must give them away.
