A new State law, AB920, requires utilities to pay homeowners for excess generation of solar or wind driven systems. This annual compensation started on January 1, 2010 with payment beginning on January 1, 2011.
Solar energy is now becoming affordable for the average homeowner especially with a 7% anticipated annual rate increase. If you are interested in having a Club meeting program on alternative energy then contact Michael Ditmore, W7HUT, who will put together a future program.
Please let me know if you are the owner of a grid connected solar system so we can assemble useful user information by our members. Presently the following are the known Amateur Radio operators who have full solar off-set of their Edison consumption.
