SB 1714 passed in the state Assembly last Friday and was referred back to the Senate because of an amendment. Yesterday it won final passage on the Senate floor, 39-0-1 on a roll call vote.
All that is left is for the Governor to permit it to become law. Please make the effort in the next few days to write, e-mail or call his office to support the bill if you have not already done so. The e-mail address is graydavis@governor.ca.gov. You can get the snail mail address, phone and fax numbers from the http://www.ca.gov page.
