As you know, we meet at the Goleta Union School District, 401 N. Fairview Ave. across the street from the Goleta Library. The doors should open around 6:45 PM so come early and shake some hands. We are going to have a fascinating meeting presentation! We will learn much about:
Solar Power Today
Our guest speaker will be letting us know about solar energy power products including solar panels, solar cell modules, photovoltaic energy collectors, solar water heaters, solar lighting and more . . .
Besides hearing from our guest speaker about solar power, this meeting will be our annual "Old Timers Night" celebration of our oldest hams, those having been in the hobby the longest time and our chance to view some really old radio equipment that was used many years ago. This is also your chance to tell us about how long ago you were licensed and show off your first radio (if you still have it). Please bring along your favorite old radios and provide a brief write-up about your gear. It doesn't need to be complicated.
We will also be celebrating our club's 90th year anniversary by taking a look back at what ham radio gear was like many years ago. Everyone is invited and encouraged to have a slice of the SBARC birthday cake!
Don't forget to bring your quality junque to deposit on the "free-to-good-home" table as well as take home your share of what others have deposited thereon.
Remember, if you haven't as yet paid your club dues, please bring your $24 for 2010. Our Membership Chairman, Harry, K6PDQ, would just love to welcome you to our club and give you a firm handshake! Please bring along some cookies or whatever your favorite might be for the coffee table. And, don't forget to get your share of tickets to win the door prizes. I'm getting my share!
