From Bill Talanian – Trustee Emeritus
Equipment Shelter Relocation
An emergency appeal is being sent out to all for assistance in finding a temporary no-cost rental home for the Club’s modular La Vigia equipment building (aka Talanian Communications Facility) on the Mesa in Santa Barbara. PHOTO ATTACHED.
This is the result of a directive by the City of SB to remove our building in order to make way for the construction of a new underground water storage facility at that site. The physical location will be replaced by installation of two five million gallon underground storage tanks for drinking water. The time line for removal of our modular building is measured in days.
We are investigating all potential facilities to store the modular structure until it may be eventually relocated to the La Cumbre Peak West site as timing and funding allow.
With the help from many individuals we are looking at several possibilities. As soon as we can zero in on a location we shall need the funding for a crane lift service and flat bed truck.
