Russian cosmonauts on the International Space Station (ISS) plan to transmit slow-scan TV (SSTV) images on 145.800 MHz FM on Wednesday, June 9, 2021 and Thursday, June 10, 2021. The transmissions, which will use SSTV mode PD120, are part of the Moscow Aviation Institute SSTV experiment (MAI-75) and will be made from RS0ISS in the Russian Service Module of the ISS using a Kenwood TM-D710 transceiver. The tentative schedule calls for transmissions on June 9 from 0935 UTC until 1350 UTC and on June 10 from 0855 UTC until 1550 UTC. Dates and times are subject to change. Hams on Earth should be able to receive the signals on a handheld transceiver using a quarter-wave whip antenna, with FM filters set for 25 kHz channel spacing. Predicted ISS pass times are available via the AMSAT website at, https://www.amsat.org/track/ . A reminder that this Saturday, June 12, will be on-foot transmitter hunting at Lake Los Carneros in Goleta, just across the highway from the Santa Barbara airport. If you want to build one of Marvin's kits for measuring-tape beams and active attenuators, let him know right away by e-mailing marvin(a)west.net. More information on the hunt and directions to the site are at homingin.com. The 20th ARDF World Championships originally scheduled for the first week of September 2020 in Serbia were rescheduled for September 2021, but now have been postponed another year to September 2022. While COVID is under control in the USA and Europe, it isn't in some other parts of the world and overseas transportation is still problematic, hence the second postponement.
