Hi everyone, Just a heads up, I'll be having a gadgeteers garage sale on Saturday from 8AM to noon. It will be very much like the bazaars of old except not quite as much "stuff" ... although there could be :). I'll be putting a more complete listing out on Craigslist Friday afternoon. LAST CALL Three each General Electric 4 ft high 19 inch enclosures. Used as repeater and controller enclosures. Two are with front and rear locking panels. One Hoffman enclosure which housed a 6 cavity duplexer. One each 4 folded dipole two-meter antenna. Antenna is 6 db gain offset and is 22 ft long. These articles are in fair shape and useable. Club has no storage for bulky items. They are free. Can deliver by arrangement.

Re:What To Do With Old QST's?

Alain, Same problem here. What I'm doing is going through each issue of QST from 2007 on and, for the articles I want, scanning them (via a cheap flatbed scanner) into a portable thumb drive. The reason I picked 2007 is because the ARRL has scanned in all issues of QST from it's beginning up to 2007. So for anything prior to '07 I just log on to the ARRL site and download the articles I want in pdf form. Then recycle the magazine. You can fit A LOT of articles onto a 2GB drive! Hope this helps. Santa Barbara Balloon Launch rescheduled for Saturday July 16 at 10am...

Hello SBARC Members and Friends, Our Santa Barbara Balloon Launch is being sponsored by the Santa Barbara Natural History Museum and it may have drifted back to July 19 at 10am from West Beach in Santa Barbara. Location is subject to change based on flight predictions. There is currently no website with info, but watch www.sbarc.org since it will probably have the techie stuff on it first. Www.sbnature.org is the museum site and they'll probably have some publicity on there in the next few days. I'm recruiting people to help with tracking and recovery. Info will be published soon when we nail everything down. We have more payload that we want so some trimming is necessary. That could scratch one or more of our subsystems. Are you interested in tracking, chasing and recovering? Predictions of a landing site have varied from Lancaster/Palmdale to the wilderness north of Ojai and most recently to Pt Mugu. We're packaging for an ocean landing, which hasn't been predicted yet, but is quite possible. Can you swim long distances or do you have a boat? Transmitters will be on several 2m freqs, a 20m freq and possibly 2.4 GHz ATV. We'll be on www.aprs.fi as well as other telemetry freqs and probably with SSTV on 2m. Again, parts of this are subject to change. Something will definitely have to be cut. Let me know how you and any of your friends would like to be involved and we'll make a big party of it! May 17, 1996 Old Timer's Night

I found the tape again that was made of the Old Timer's Night. This was taken at the County Schools Auditorium when that was the regular SBARC meeting location. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5BbIxAsUvw It is listed as 1:21:49 in length. It has some problems and the sound quality is not real good. BUT, it has some great stories and information from some highly respected old timers: Aram Pashgiam, W6JY (SK) Radford Leonard, W6THN (SK) Merle B. Parten, K6DC (SK) The videos were taken by my wife, Barbara, and Bruce Gordon, N6OLT. Marvin, KE6HTS P.S. - Rod Fritz will pick up the tape and hopefully edit it back into a more watchable video.
