I am about to pickup a Conti 2 and bring it home. What is the best way to transport this unit? It’s about an hour drive to the machine.
I’ve transported early 60’s Rockola’s by removing records & turntable, strapping tone arm and anything else that could fly open or move and laying it on its back in a large SUV with success.
I’m worried this might not be sufficient for the Conti. Thinking of renting a U-Haul and strapping it to the wall. Also heard of the title strip top part breaking off doing so! Absolutely want to prevent that!
What say the experts?
Andrew
Andrew,
Take the time to remove the upper, curved titleholder assembly. It’s actually very easy and worth the piece of mind.
There are two hex bolts to remove with Allen wrench, one special flathead anchor and one molex plug (upper lighting) that needs unplugging. The titleboard is pretty heavy, so you may need some help with it. Berry Sent from my iPhone
