Today the PAPA system was "taken over" by people trying to locate a science
balloon experiment that they believed landed inside the inner loop of the
Chuckwalla Raceway race track. It had a beacon on it that they were using
to triangulate its location. This was their 6th launch. They launched
from Lake Forest. It got my attention so I asked about it and the net
controller told me to check out scienceheads.org. See below for two neat
videos - in the second one you can use your mouse to change your vantage
point (look up at the balloon or the parachute after balloon pops, look
down a the earth, etc). Pretty neat!

I didn't see any information on what caused his passing. RIP Art!!!
