I watched this, and haven't checked it out as to truthfulness or how
widespread it is. But if true (and coming from a ham, it does sound
true), it sounds serious for California Amateurs.

I found an incomplete URL for the original letter on the video comments,
but got a 404 error.
Has this affected any of the emergency services provided by SBARC hams
to our community (or other communities)?

This from the ARRL Southwestern Division e-Communicator:
"In 2020, the Yuma Hamfest, on February 14 and 15, will again be the
ARRL Southwestern Division Convention. This is the convention that has
rotated through the sections, and was conventionally held in September.
There will not be another Southwestern Division convention in September
in 2019 as no other groups have stepped up to sponsor such an event."
