Here's another good one:
Motorola Micom-H, HF-SSB/CW Transceiver, built by MOBAT which is (as I
understand it) Motorola in Israel. This is a very rugged radio.....
This is a top of the line radio, receives 100 KHz to 30.00 MHz, and
transmits on all Ham bands between 160 and 10 meters (including WARC). Requires
13.8 VDC @ 28 Amps Maximum........for SSB requires 17 Amps.....
This radio is in like-new condition......I doubt if Bill ever really used
it.
A good description can be seen at:
http://www.rigpix.com/mischam/motorola-mobat_micomh.htm
And if you click on "Product Sheet" at the bottom of the page you get
specifications.
Included with the radio is the handheld microphone, Motorola power cord,
and the Owner's Manual.
Priced for quick sale @ $1,000.00

Radio-Orienteering and Antenna Building Saturday, March 6, 2010
[image: CPARC logo] <http://www.w6bhz.org/>This on-foot
direction-finding session is co-sponsored by the Cal Poly Amateur
Radio Club (CPARC<http://www.w6bhz.org/>) and the Radio Microwave and
Photonics Club (RMAP). It is open to ham operators and non-hams of
all ages and takes place on the beautiful campus of California
Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, California. Your
hosts are Marcel Stieber KI6QDJ, the President of CPARC and Sam Vigil
WA6NGH, Professor of Environmental Engineering at the university.
[image: Measuring-tape beam]All you must have is a transceiver or
scanner that covers the ham radio two-meter band. You can build your
own direction-finding antenna and attenuator on the spot from kits if
you aren't already equipped. Then try your hand at a 5-fox two-meter
international-rules ARDF course of low to moderate difficulty.
Experts will be on hand to help you with kitbuilding and they can
teach you the basic techniques of on-foot direction-finding.
Beginning about 9 AM, Marvin Johnston KE6HTS will conduct a clinic
for building his kits for measuring-tape yagis ($15) and for 90 dB
offset-type attenuators ($20) in room 20-116. For $45, you can get
the yagi kit and an assembled/tested attenuator in a special housing
that goes inside the boom of the yagi. (See photo at right). *If you
register in advance by sending e-mail to marvin-at-west.net, he will
have the kits reserved in your name waiting for you.* If you're not
an electronic technician, don't worry because there will be plenty of
experts to help you. We want you to succeed!
*The transmitter hunt will start about 11 AM on a course set by
Marvin.*There will be an orientation in room 20-128 and then a start
by the hamshack tower. Hunters may start the course at any time until
1 PM. Course closes at 3 PM. A $5 donation to the club is requested
for participation in the hunt. The course will include the main
campus and Poly Canyon, so be sure to bring some water and wear
suitable shoes.
San Luis Obispo is on the central coast of California. From
northbound Highway 101 downtown, take the Grand Avenue exit, turn
left and go north uphill to the campus. From southbound Highway 101,
take the Monterey Street exit, continue on the frontage road three
blocks to Grand Avenue, then go right and uphill on Grand to the
campus. See the map below.
[image: Control flag]Look for event signs or an orange and white
orienteering flag. (Example at left.) Park as close as you can to
Engineering East Building 20 (the one under the ham radio tower).
Parking permits are not required on Saturday but parking meters may
be enforced, so be sure to check. More parking information is
here<http://www.afd.calpoly.edu/police/services_parking.asp?pid=1&subid=2>
.
Talk-in is on the CPARC linked repeaters: 146.76(-) PL127.3 and
442.3(+) PL127.3. Both repeaters are located on the campus.

At first light the camera appears to be tracking OK so at this point
we can say it is up and running. The original problem was a package
of dessicant which strapped to the electronics fell in front of the
camera and blocking movement. The camera was shut down until the pack
could be removed.
<http://www.diablo.sbarc.org/imageview.cgi>
The second problem was the wireless grid antenna. It was ripped off
its mount and wrapped itself around the yardarm by the coax. It was
restapped with hose clamps and appears to be working again.
All this happened in the past storms when we had 55 mph sustained and
74 mph peak winds.
The SBARC wind speed and wind direction also disintegrated at some
point and will be replaced on the next trip.
As always, THANKS to Aspen Helicopters for their excellent support in
getting me to the Peak.

Greetings all SBARC members and guests!
This Friday night, February 19, 2010, will be when we hold our second meeting of the New Year. Our new president, Al Soenke, WA6VNN, wants to meet and greet every one of you. He also wants to hear your ideas of what kind of exciting things we as a club might do this year. Bring your thoughts, your good ideas, and let him hear from you. I have a couple of those myself. What do you think SBARC should do this year to head us in the direction of growing to 500 members that we were famous for? You do know that absolutely nothing is impossible. We did put a man on the moon, didn't we? What would you like SBARC to do?
The program for the evening will be Portable Operations. Can you imagine what this might be about? Are you prepared to run your station completely independent of the power lines? How long could you do that? This should be fascinating. Bring your friends with you.
Do you like our refreshment break during the meetings? Are you able to bring some goodies for the refreshment table? Cookies, donuts, cake, fresh fruit -- always a hit. Please make a note to yourself. Either President Al or Exec. VP Michael, W7HUT, will be bringing the hot Starbucks coffee. Can anyone bring some soft drinks?
Come early, stay late. Put your hand out. Welcome some new hams to our wonderful hobby. Bring some junque for our 'Free to a Good Home' table. I'm bringing about 50 pounds of it. Take some home with you. Be sure you don't miss that table which is on the north side of the room under the windows.
As always, it will be my pleasure to greet as many of you as I can.
If you are new to our club, we meet at the Goleta Union School District board room which is located at 401 N. Fairview Ave. in Goleta, directly across the street from the Goleta Library. The meeting begins at 7:30 PM, but come early.
73, Darryl Widman, KF6DI
SBARC Director
