Announcing the 2004 Nojoqui Tarantula Migration Dxpedition
by K6SGH and K6TZ Club Station
When: Saturday October 23rd and Sunday October 24th
Where: Larsen Meadows at Camp Alegre in the San Ynez Mountains
Which Bands: 10 through 20 meters...just look for the pileups
Directions To Event: From Santa Barbara, take HWY 154 over
San Marcos Pass. About 1.5 miles from the top, when you see the
SECOND sign on the left saying RANCHO ALEGRE, CAMP
WHITTIER. There will also be a K6TZ sign. Turn left there
and follow the K6TZ signs up the road about 1.5 miles to
LARSEN MEADOWS. Just follow the K6TZ signs. We will be monitoring
146.52 simplex so give us a call when you're near.
Why: Each year, thousands of tarantulas brave countless dangers as
they migrate to their ancestral breeding grounds somewhere in northern
Santa Barbara county. The journey, which is believed to span some 50
miles across treacherous terrain and several county highways, is one of
the most unusual mass migrations. Once thought to be only myth, the
Nojoqui Tarantulas have recently been rediscovered and their great
migration the source of scientific wonder and amazement.
On the Internet, go to www.k6sgh.com and click on the Tarantula
Migration link and read for yourself the strange and amazing events
associated with these wonderful migrations.
Hope to see you at Larsen Meadows and certainly on the various amateur
bands throughout the weekend.

Sorry for the hiatus. I hadn't noticed that it was broken again. I removed EchoIRLP which probably was causing the trouble. Everything should be working now. I just managed to get a contact in Juno, Alaska over one of the reflectors, took a while of dialing around, uhhh. Please send me email anytime you find IRLP is not working.
Regards,
Thorsten - N6TVE
