really a patriarch of ham radio in So. California, and well known around
the world.
Aram died 15 SEP 01 and was creamated. A service was held in Santa
Barbara on 21 SEP for family and several close friends. If interested,

Hello! My name is Ned Stearns, AA7A, and I am running for the office of
Vice Director for the ARRL Southwestern Division. I have known many of
you for years as a result of being active in several clubs in the Phoenix
area, or from contacts at Tuthill hamfest, ARRL Divsion conventions or
from contacts on the air. I would like to ask you to vote for me for
Vice Director in the upcoming elections. And I would also like to ask
your help by forwarding this email to any of your friends who may not
know me and are interested in making an informed choice in the upcoming
election.
If you have some time, please read the "AA7A for Vice Director" web page
which contains relevant background information about me and my

The ARRL members of the Southwestern Division are rather fortunate to
have a choice between two very qualified candidates for the office of
Vice Director. It is important that everyone who has an interest in
choosing their League representation vote in this election.
Ballots should start arriving around 1 October. Please remember to vote.
And, please remind others to vote.
And, finally, please vote for AA7A for Vice Director.
Thank you for your consideration,
Ned

money.

ARRL Southwestern Division Vice Director Election
Greetings to all in the Southwestern Division. In just a few days, if
you are an ARRL member, you will be receiving a ballot, of
which you will be able to vote for your next Vice Director. Those of
you know me, know I have worked hard as the San Diego
Section Manager, and will work just as hard as your Vice Director. As
most of you are aware, I am President of two San Diego
clubs as well as fulfilling the duties as your Section Manager. I have
been the President for the Amateur Radio club of El Cajon for
the years 96, 97, 2000, and 2001. I have been president of the Southbay
Amateur Radio society since 1997. I have held many
ARRL field positions and ARES appointments. I am Webmaster for 2 sites,
and am the newsletter editor for the San Diego DX
club. I was appointed to the WRC 99 committee by then ARRL President
Rod Stafford W6ROD, the committee was charged with
suggesting ideas to the FCC for changes in the Amateur Radio structure.
I believe very strongly in the work of the ARRL, so
strongly, that I am a life member. I have always tried to give my best,
would you expect any less?
I am a member of several general-purpose clubs, as well as specialized
groups as well. I love DXing and contesting.
The Amateur Radio service is very important to me, and I will do
whatever I can to preserve and protect this great hobby.
I am very supportive of Public service, not only to the general public
but to hams as well. We should strive to provide any
support that we can. I not only ask for volunteers, but also try to
participate myself whenever I can!! I am very familiar with and
have actively been involved with the ARRL field services division. You
need a person with the experience in the ARRL- ARES
structure to represent you.
I ask one favor of each of you. Please send at an e-mail to all your ham
friends in the Southwestern Division, and let them
know I am running, and that you are not only supporting me, but voting
for me. I NEED YOUR HELP!! I am one person, but I am
one person with many friends through out this division. With your help,
we can do this. You know how hard I have worked, and you
know that I will continue to give you the best that I know how. I have
an election web page, which can be found at
www.qsl.net/nz6t/election.htm. You will see a guest book at the bottom
of this page. Please sign in, and show your support. If
you have any questions, please drop me an e-mail at nz6t(a)arrl.org. I try
very hard to answer all e-mail within 24 hours unless I am
out of town. Go ahead and try it. I am here for you!!
Thanks again, and one last thing that I must ask......
Please vote for me Tuck Miller NZ6T, for your next Southwestern Division
Vice Director!!
73 to all,
Tuck Miller NZ6T

Hi All,
Say, Dave Croteau, KM6JQ, called me last night. He called because
he had previously read my article in a earlier edition of KK. The article
he mentioned was the one that deal with re-newing one's Amateur Radio
license etc.
He is fine and working in Idaho for Honeywell.
That is about all I know on the subject at this point.
