ANTARCTICA 2006
Considered by some to be the DXpedition of the Decade, this adventure
will bring the danger and excitement right into our club meeting room.
You
will see the helicopter flights, hear the howling storms and that nasty,
incessant wind and you will struggle along with the team as they erect their
antennas and shelters.
You will hear
the huge pileups as they sound from the bottom of the world and at the bottom of
the sunspot cycle!
You will see
the daring rescue of a team member and 3 ship’s crewmen as they remove the last
of their gear from the island when it’s time to leave. This is an hour-long
drama you won’t want to miss. Share the lives of the 22 brave men who planned
for years for this special event.
It was John
Wayne who said, “Courage is being scared to death and saddling up
anyway.”
Bring your
popcorn!
The SBARC club
meeting is this Friday, October 21, at 7:30 PM at the Goleta Union School
District, 401 North Fairview Ave. in
Goleta.
