Subject: 145.16 SYP Repeater
By now everyone on the sbarc listserver received an email from
wd6eby with an update on the 145.16 Santa Ynez Repeater.
The 145.160/144.560 K6TZ repeater at Santa Ynez Peak achieved a
milestone on Thursday 22 April 2021. The repeater is now full
time RF linked with wd6eby at South Mountain, Ventura. No
network services or complex link codes to operate. Operate the
repeater as a local system. Keep in mind your being heard
throughout Ventura, Oxnard, and Thousand Oaks and are able to
communicate with users over a broad geographic area. In time we
shall post the various area wide nets and special interest
groups with their times of operation for local Santa Barbara
amateurs.

Our plan since day one was to stay clear of network based
systems and fragile connectivity. The link between our
systems is traditional point to multipoint analog radio
based with no complex ip addressing. This effectively serves
the emergency services infrastructure and redundant power
systems. In time we hope to branch out to San Luis Obispo
County for a robust KISS Tri-County analog radio system
within the Santa Barbara Section.
Thanks to the many who helped along the way to make this
system a reality.
