I'm a newbie, having just passed my technician's exam, and wanted to ask about borrowing to a 2m transceiver so I can start monitoring the local nets. There are a few handheld units at the Red Cross radio shack with numbers taped on them; are these loaner units? If not, does anyone on the list have a "spare" 2M unit I could borrow until I figure out what to invest in?
