Our latest project is a new VHF Repeater in the works to cover North Santa Barbara County. The repeater will be RF linked with 145.16 at Santa Ynez Peak. Meanwhile our team ramped up quickly to pull together the major equipment assets. One major item is the equipment enclosure as it is anticipated the repeater shall be mounted outside. This is similar to our installation at La Cumbre Peak which is now 30 years old. The best choice for an outdoor enclosure is a traffic signal box if you can find one. Fortunately Paul Strauss, wd6eby, had one and we moved quickly to bring it up from Camarillo. The aluminum box will be gutted and rebuilt as new.
