Hello SBARC Members and Friends,

SBARC will participate in Field Day 2011 on June 25-26 at Camino Real Marketplace

We expect to have two operating stations, the primary station in the Rover and the GOTA station in the ARES Van.

This year, we will focus more energy to promote public awareness of Amateur Radio and SBARC by making scheduled presentations from 9am to 3pm Saturday and from 9am to 2pm Sunday.  In addition to the presentations, we’ll interact with the public to answer their questions and promote Amateur Radio and SBARC.  If there is enough public interest, we may keep our booths open as late as 5pm on Saturday.  There will be a barbeque after the event on Sunday.

We need volunteers to make presentations and to interact with the public.  Please refer to the attached document and volunteer for one or more of the positions...

We need some of you to make short presentations to be scheduled throughout both days.  Here are some ideas you might consider…

·       Field Day Overview

·       Emergency Preparedness Overview

·       Public Service Overview

·       Video or Pictures of an Event

·       SBARC Facilities

·       Amateur Radio Satellite Contact

·       Mechanical Teletype Demo

·       Amateur Radio High-Altitude Balloon Demo

·       Amateur Radio on the Internet (ARRL, Websites, etc)

·       Equipment Demo (Show off your favorite project or radio)

·       Specialized Mode (SSTV, RTTY, PSK31) Demo

·       CW Demo (Spark Gap Transmitter?)

·       DX Demo (DXpedition)

·       Microwave Communication Demo

·       Mobile ATV Demo

·       Any other interesting Amateur Radio topic

Please let me know where you can help so we can make a good impression.

Thank you,

Rod Fritz, WB9KMO
