The ARRL Santa Barbara Section will be conducting an
Intra-Section Communication Exercise on Thursday, October 20th, starting
at 1000 Hours. All Amateurs capable of operating on the exercise
frequencies are invited to participate.
One of the Section goals for 2016 is to improve the communications
between Amateurs in the Section. Several efforts have been in
process this year to publicize our many Nets and to implement
supplemental electronic communications. This exercise will
investigate the ability to use RF capabilities to communicate information
across the whole Section at one time and to involve a large number of
operators in a Net environment.
If you are available to join in this test, please try to access the
portal in your area and check-in with Net Control using your Call
Suffix. You will be asked to report your Callsign, Location (City),
and the repeater you are using for access.
The Exercise will start at 1000 hours and continue to 1045 Hours.
Stations do not need to remain on frequency for the entire net and should
have plenty of time to participate in any local Great Shake-Out activity
or the special CalOES or SWOES Nets being held during the same time
frame.
The following repeaters will be part of this exercise:
W6FM 147.360 MHz (127.3 Hz) Mt Lowe - San Luis
Obispo
W6RRN 448.760 MHz (131.8 Hz) Santa Ynez Pk - Santa Barbara
W6RRN 448.600 MHz (141.3 Hz) Rasnow Pk - Thousand Oaks
W6RRN 445.800 MHz (141.3 Hz) Chatsworth Peak - Simi Valley
Your participation will be appreciated.
